Empowering Real Estate Consultants with Data Literacy: A Collaboration with Colliers

It has been my great pleasure to collaborate with 高力國際 #Colliers Hong Kong in various perspectives in the last few months. From advisory and a panel discussion on the property strategy for the growth of innovation and technology ecosystem in Hong Kong, a forum on the power of data in sustainability, and, most recently, a sharing session on data literacy for real estate industry for the top consultants of Colliers, and more.

Colliers is a global real estate services and investment management company, with operations in over 60 countries. They specialize in providing a wide range of real estate services to clients, including property management, brokerage, valuation, and consulting. To stay ahead of their competitions, data literacy for every consultant is pivotal. Analyze, innovate, communicate and win with data is mandatory for professionals in today’s digital economy. Colliers is right on it.

Really appreciate the leadership from Chun Kong Lau and enjoy the collaboration with the Colliers’ team Chris Hui, Jo L., Kathy Lee, Andrew Lau, Hannah Jeong, Mandy Leung and many more. Empowering Sustainability and Operation Excellence Through Data – Highlights from DaLa’s First Open Forum

The first open forum of our DaLa – Data Literacy Association was held successfully yesterday. We had two inspiring panel discussion on the use of data in empowering sustainability and operation excellency plus keynote speech on the smart use of data in our Hong Kong International Airport.

Really grateful to have had an outstanding turnout rate of our audiences. Thanks for their participation. After the forum, we had arranged a networking session. We all could further chat and learn from each other.

Heartfelt thanks to my DaLa teammates to organize and contribute to this historic event of us. Also, appreciate our honorary advisors Jennifer Tan, David Ho, Dr. Michael Chan and Victor Lam JP for their presence and support. D2Place – How Traditional Manufacturing Leader Transformed Itself

Appreciate Rico Lau from LAWSGROUP to introduce and show me and my teammates Andy Kwok, Victor Ng and Derek Leung from OpenCertHub Academy about the Group’s creativity in various areas. It has really opened our eyes on how a traditional apparel manufacturing leader has successfully transformed themselves and been making a huge impact to the community. Impressive.

LAWSGROUP has turned the traditional buildings in old district Lai Chi Kok into vibrant and popular shopping, dining and entertainment co-creation spaces called “D2 Place” https://lnkd.in/g3MUvnpi with young #enterpreneurs. It empowers many young innovators to test out their products, pivot and scale up to real shops. I can feel the passion from not only the enterpreneurs but also the young customers there. Thank you Rico to have shown us around. I am sure there are a lot more to explore in these spaces and it is still evolving. Really appreciate the team effort from Rico, Leslie Fok, Miko Cheung and many others from LAWSGROUP to revitalize these spaces, empower #entrepreneurship and made many impossible to possible.

Rico also brought us to the Laws Knitters Studio 羅氏針織工作室 which not only shows the history of knitting but also provides a co-creation space for designers and manufacturers.
Riding on their ecosystem creativity, knitting products now have many varieties as shown on the photos. It can be personalized as well.

When I saw the traditional “#Singer #勝家” sewing home machine, it triggered a lot of memories on how my mom made clothes for me by her own hands from scratch when I was young while the economy has not taken off. Thank you mom and thank you Laws Group to build this studio for our collective memory.

Rico and I exchanged many good ideas on #Innovation, #DataLiteracy, #MetaVerse, #ESG, #SocialImpact, #Community #Cocreation, and more. Look forward to having even more collaboration with him and his teammates at LAWSGROUP in different areas in the Year of the Rabbit and beyond.

HKDAS Hackathon 2023

Grateful to have had chances to provide mentorship to so many #blockchain, #web3, #metaverse and #ESG innovators in today’s Hong Kong Digital Asset Society #HKDAS #Hackathon 2023 in Cyberport. I particularly appreciate these innovators’ heart and innovative minds to make use the emerging technologies to find new ways to solve tough problems and create deep social impact.

In the capacity of Industry Advisor of HKDAS together with Edmund Lee and Vincent So, and the Founding Chairman of Data Literacy Association #DALA, we act as mentors together with many experts for today’s hackathon. Thanks Fonia Wong 黃仰芳, Alex Au, Celia Lok and their teammates from HKDAS to have created such a great platform for us to co-create values in the web3 era. Glad to see Mrs Fanny Law, the former Chairman of HKSTP, there as well. Thanks to her continuous support and interest in our innovation and technology ecosystem.

Joined the GS1 Hong Kong Summit 2022 today in my capacity as the President of Internet of Things #IoT Industry Advisory Council https://lnkd.in/gZ3M-NrZ. Thanks for Anna Lin‘s invitation.

Really like the main theme “Enabling Growth through #IDD“. Guess what IDD means? We may recall the old memory of IDD which means the International Direct Dialing. IDD today means #Innovation, #Disruption and #DigitalTransformation. I learned a lot more about ESG, Digital Transformation, New Retail, Data Analytics, eCommerce, Trade Finance, and MetaVerse from many speakers and panelists like Rico Lau#Lawsgroup, Louis Mah#Maxims, Samuel lau#KerryLogistics, Anson Bailey (eMBA)#KPMG, Nelson Chow#HKMA, Sandy Tan#DBS, and many others today.

More importantly, met many good friends f2f whom we haven’t seen each other physically for the last 3 years. Really felt great and warm to see many bright entrepreneurs and leaders such as Dr. Michael Chan #CafeDeCoral, Lucia Cheung#HKIM, Danny Shum#Ztore#TVB, Keith Wu#Fulum, Crystal Pang#Pickups, Vincent SoHenry Yeung#RTIA.

I am also very happy to see my elite #CUHK#EMBA students like Vincent Wong, Edmund Chan, Mae Chen there. Really grateful that my students have started engaging more with the #innovation and #technology#ecosystem as I often encourage them to do more. Well done.

Learned a lot from Edmund on bringing in ESG, Design and Innovation to the Group. With Edmund’s years of experience on product design, innovation and technology, I am sure the Gold Peak Group will reach another peak with his and GP’s C-suite leadership.

We also shared how important for leaders these days to empower everyone in the organization to be data literate. Edmund said, “Who in the world don’t need data literacy these days”. Edmund and his teammates have been changing their data mindset. Rather than just communicating using their expertise, they have also asked and used data to back things up. That really endorsed what we have been doing to empower enterprises in Hong Kong to speak, think and act on #data. Thanks Edmund to endorse our belief.

3. We also appreciated more collaboration of FinTech #startups #entrepreneurs and financial services incumbents #leaders to #cocreate better customer experience, products and services, and innovate new business models. From competition to collaboration.

With this foundation and FinTech ecosystem that we have built for Hong Kong, plus initiatives like HKMA #FinTech2025 and #CDI, #GBA, #ESG, #InsuranceConnect, etc., We are expecting even better innovations coming in the next few years.

Congrats to all of you including myself and be grateful to be a part of the FinTech innovation journey for Hong Kong. Thank you.
