盟創業與市場拓展行政人員文憑

This programme is designed for business leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals who intend to expand their businesses to or work in the ASEAN region.

It will explore and analyse the investment ecosystem and important business landscape of the ASEAN countries to help you fully grasp the local situation when planning your business move.

Why ASEAN ?

The growth in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) drives a strong supply and demand in various industries including manufacturing, construction, trading, retail, and certainly innovation and technology. Governments of ASEAN countries have been proactively encouraging foreign investment, developing infrastructure and digital transformation,  and promoting ASEAN to become a key destination for foreign direct investment.

  • With 650 million people, ASEAN has the 3rd largest population in the world and a GDP of US$2.8 trillion
  • With a projected annual growth rate of over 5.5% per year, ASEAN is forecast to overtake the EU and Japan to become the 4th largest economy in the world by 2050, behind China, India, and the US
  • Over 380 million people are under age 35 in ASEAN (58% of the population) and ASEAN’s middle class is expected to be 334 million (51% of the population) by 2030
  • Sustainable urbanisation is a key part of this demographic growth. It is estimated that nearly 70% of ASEAN’s population will live in urban areas by 2050

What a rewarding 4 days together with my #CUHK #EMBA students! I took them through a very timely and critical intensive training on #innovation #strategy & #management. Our students are all senior executives from mainland #China including traditional companies and tech giants.

I have invited 4 guest speakers to share their corporate innovation experience with us. Thanks Eric Hui #ZurichInsuranceCharles Lam #FubonAkina Ho #GreatEagle and Damien Ko #G2000. Their sharings were insightful & practical. We all learned a lot from them. Thank you.

I used a few inspirational cases as the core for my class, such as, #Disney#Netflix#Marriott#Airbnb#Adobe#PingAn#Haier#Philips#Samsung#Booking.com, #3M#Amazon#Alibaba#Advantech#Walesgreen, etc.

Though we had to use Zoom for the training, the class participation from our students on our case discussion was no less than a #f2f class. Really impressed by the quality of my students’ questions, analysis, debates & suggestions. Thank you.

My students had a nice dinner in Shenzhen with lots of joy after the 4 days class. They were well deserved it. Hope to join them next time when there is no quarantine needed.

Happy Father’s Day for everyone!

Thanks Edmund Lee #HKDC for his marvelous leadership throughout the years to make #KODW as a global brand and conference.

Ice breaking to re-warm ourselves back to the physical world. While we are gradually getting back to the physical f2f world, like 2 f2f conferences that I participated last week, we need some help to lossen up our ankles and muscle, and reboot our mindset back to the real world. #EnergyBooster is a good way that you may try.

The 6th Cloud Forum last Friday used the Energy Booster to warm up hundreds of audiences before the real show. What it did was to ask everyone to simulate and act on what they would do during their leisure time right in the venue. Then it asked the friends around to guess what it was.

It could be basketball, golf, singing, reading, mahjong, massage, etc. All audiences stood up and proactively joined. It ended up with many different ways on how the audiences spent their time on leisure. It was fun and really engaged the whole crowd be it be tens, hundreds or thousands on a physical location. Try it in your next #f2f #offline #physical event. Cheers.

Thanks Catherine Chan #Kornerstone the organizer of the 6th Cloud Forum to arrange such a great way to warm us up.

20th HK GS1 Conference
https://lnkd.in/gDd8sZf

Grateful to see and contribute to another great offline conference today. The 6th #Cloud Forum Hong Kong was successful launched today at the #HKCEC. The main theme was Cloud HyperDrive in Disruptive Time.
https://www.cloudforum.hk/

I was moderating the 1st panel of the forum and the topic was #CloudMigration. We had a good mix of experiences in our panel so we could make insightful discussion from different perspectives. It included well established company Dr. Ted Suen, MH #MTR, vibrant #FinTech #InsurTech #Startup Michael Kwan Yu Chan #Bowtie and leading Cloud Service provider #AWS  .

It was a very insightful discussion. We touched on internal buy in, Capex and Opex changes in adopting Cloud, governance, partner selection, outsourcing strategy, SME challenges, etc. Thank you for all our panelists’ insightful and practical experience sharing.

Thanks for the great support from Victor Lam #OGCIOPeter Koo FCPA,CA,AICPA,CPA(Aust),ACCA,CIA,CFE,CISA,CISM from #DeloitteCatherine Chan from #Kornerstone and many others.

Felt happy and warm to see many friends in person in these 2 days at HKCEC. It has been a long time. Physical forums are just beautiful. Hope that continues and gets bigger and bigger with good health for all. Take care!

No one enjoyed queuing before the Covid19 but I felt great to be physically on a long queue to get into the #GS1 Hong Kong Summit today at #HKCEC https://lnkd.in/gpE26UJ. Over 1,500 offline & online participants joined the event today. A few inspirations that I would like to share with you.

Ricky Wong has been innovative in his career. He just had another one which is a great news to our #BigData industry – his #OpenDataBank initiative. It opens up the data from his #HKTVMall to the public through #API. External companies can innovate better customer experience by connecting data with his. It also sets a great role model to encourage other companies to open up their data for customers & social good as well. https://lnkd.in/gJy4xsk

Randy Lai #Mcdonald said that engaging not only with external but also internal customers. Her colleagues are young & digital natives. Making use of apps to deliver ongoing training to them is effective. Social connection & being a part of it,, not being an outsider is a great view too.

Thanks Kelvin Leung Anna Lin Mignone Cheng #GS1HK to make the offline show shine again. The good news is that I will physically queue up for the 6th Cloud Forum https://www.cloudforum.hk/ tomorrow in the same venue organized by Catherine Chan #Kornerstone.

Hong Kong Productivity Council held its first “Future of Work & Tech Experience Day” yesterday. Excellent panel discussion on the future of work & talents moderated by Eliza Ng #HKPC. Panelists included Jeff Wong #LinkedInLancy Chui #ManpowerAda Ng #MicrosoftFlorence Chow #HKT and Karen F. HKPC. https://lnkd.in/gN8ntdk

The event also announced the results of “The Future of Work & Skills Survey” jointly conducted by HKPC & #QuokkaHR this year.

One key finding from the report is that the top five digital skills are #BigData#CloudComputing#ArtificialIntelligence#DigitalMarketing & #eCommerce. That is in line with what we have seen in the market.

Marius ChowDAVID Chung Tai-Wai and I were on the other panel to talk about a series of new training programmes to #reskill and #upskill Hong Kong talents on these required future skills in the digital age. These training programs are all supported and subsidized by government funding.

One of the new programmes that I designed together with HKPC is to empower Hong Kong #SMEs & #Startups to seize the emerging opportunities in #ASEAN markets such as #Vietnam#Indonesia#Thailand#Malaysia#Singapore, etc. Stay tuned.

Great exchange of ideas with Andy Ann – one of the best tech #SerialEntrepreneurs from Hong Kong as well as our #CUHK #EMBA #CUHKEMBA distinguished alumnus. He has founded a few successful start-ups before another great one #YAS today – a #InsurTech startup focusing on #MicroInsurance. Impressive!

I met Andy a few years ago when we participated the #HSBC Innovation Summit. We have both witnessed how HSBC Commercial Banking have been transforming in the Digital Economy and glad that we had a chance to contribute to their #innovation journey as well.

Honoured to receive his book #創業不困難 from him directly. Learned a lot of secret sauce on being a successful startup today from Andy. I will share a copy of my book #數碼力大提升 in my next round of discussion with him.

We will explore further on how to empower and support our startup ecosystem, in particular those are trying but not yet on the right track, better and stronger.

Look forward to learning from and collaborating with Andy and many other successful entrepreneurs from Hong Kong, mainland and Asia. Stay tuned.

The 2nd episode of our #FoodTech Series was done today in #HKPC. It is a part of our #Innopreneur Forum Series. It aims to bring leaders from Hong Kong to share their experiences to use #Innovation & #Technology to empower their business & solve problems. #SMEs can learn from them to accelerate their #DigitalTransformation.

Today, we had 4 leaders on my panel to share their experiences. Really appreciate their contribution.
Ryan Lai #Foodpanda
Jason C. #和田便當 Wada Bento
Calvin Tse #金記控股
Polly L. #Xero

Here are my key takeaways:
1. Pick the right staff with a passion for transformation to lead innovation projects.

2. Benchmark units with innovation & those who are behind, reward those who have tried.

3. Collaboration with #ecosystem is in fact a key competitive advantage especially sharing & integrating data to co-create values for customers.

4. Make use of algorithms and big data to drive customer experience and engagement

5. Patience is vital as digital transformation takes longer than we planned but we have to start now or it is too late.

Please refer to https://lnkd.in/gHMn3HV on the 1st episode of our Food Tech forum. Our 3rd forum will be on #MarketingTech in July. Stay tuned. Thanks HKPC Karen F. Marius Chow Kylie Lau & others to make this happen.

#PropertyManagement & #SpaceManagement are two important areas that technologies can add lots of value. That was the main theme for #B4B Challenge this year. Startups from mainland China and Hong Kong in the #PropTech areas joined this competition. They showcased how to make use of #BigData to solve pain points in the property management industry. The final pitching day was done this week with a hybrid environment where startups did their pitching physically in both #Beijing and #HongKong.

Impressive innovations based on video analytics for shopping mall, location-based technologies for selection of shop location, IOTs for residential and commercial complex management, smart energy savings, robotics applications, and many others. I am so grateful to be one of the judges for this award and the Chief Mentor of B4B Challenge.

Congratulations to all finalists and winners of this year’s #B4BChallenge. Thanks the participation of all the speakers and leaders from property industries and associations in the mainland and Hong Kong. Herbert Chia #車品覺 shared his view and his new book “Data Reinvention”. Also thank B4B leader Francois Lee and his team to make this happened.
