Will #PostgreSQL replace #Oracle to become the world’s leading #database in the #DigitalEconomy? What is PostgreSQL? Why should corporate leaders (not just IT) care about it?

PostgreSQL is a powerful, open source object-relational database system that uses & extends the #SQL language combined with many features that safely store & scale the most complicated data workloads. It originated from the POSTGRES project at the University of California at #Berkeley 30 years ago.

For years, PostgreSQL has been on the rise, even as Oracle & #MySQL (its open source database) have faded. PostgreSQL is now a strong fourth place, with #MongoDB right behind it. Its popularity is not just because of codes sharing and cheap, but also its functionality & scalability.

The mission of #OpenCertHub is to empower business & IT executives with #DataLiteracy & #OpenSource technologies as they are the crucial competence for entreprises & individuals in the Digital Age. As Chairman of OpenCertHub & Chairman of the Open Sources Development Committee (#OSDC) HK, I will give a keynote speech in the annual PostgreSQL Conference in GZ China on Jan 15-16.
