PostgreSQL is a powerful, open source object-relational database system that uses & extends the #SQL language combined with many features that safely store & scale the most complicated data workloads. It originated from the POSTGRES project at the University of California at #Berkeley 30 years ago.

For years, PostgreSQL has been on the rise, even as Oracle & #MySQL (its open source database) have faded. PostgreSQL is now a strong fourth place, with #MongoDB right behind it. Its popularity is not just because of codes sharing and cheap, but also its functionality & scalability.

The mission of #OpenCertHub is to empower business & IT executives with #DataLiteracy & #OpenSource technologies as they are the crucial competence for entreprises & individuals in the Digital Age. As Chairman of OpenCertHub & Chairman of the Open Sources Development Committee (#OSDC) HK, I will give a keynote speech in the annual PostgreSQL Conference in GZ China on Jan 15-16. #BillGates said, “Banking is necessary, banks are not”. Have we thought about “Accounting is necessary, accountants are not”?

#Accounting, #Auditing and #Finance professionals are used to have a peace of mind in earning secured income and having great prosperity. However, another #NewNORMAL has come to them in this decade and they have to respond well to keep flourishing for their career.

While these professions are still very important to us, many of them are in high risks of losing their jobs to #AI and #BigData in this decade.

According to PWC, 30% of our current jobs will be automated by AI by 2030. Accounting and Finance is ranked as the top tier of the list. How should the professionals and students in the profession prepare themselves for this tsunami? The answer is #DataLiteracy.
