Congratulations to all the winners of the Best HR Awards 2022 organized by CTGoodJobs. Grateful being one of the judges and speakers for the Awards again. My OpenCertHub Academy team fully supported the ceremony this year. Thanks Vivienne WongShirley Pi, William Ho, Reo Lam and their teammates to organize such a great award ceremony. We enjoyed our great collaboration and teamwork with the CTGoodJobs team.

I particularly appreciate this Awards because it has pioneered quite a few award categories to encourage HR leaders to cultivate digital transformation and innovation initiatives and talent to their organizations.

In this year, Data Literacy Association #DaLa www.DaLaHK.org , which was founded by a number of data leaders and I to nurture data culture in large to small organizations, jointly with CTGoodJobs created a new category called Data Literacy Award. It aims to encourage establishing data culture and enabling pervasive use of data in organizations to unleash the power of data to every employee. Congratulations to The Bank of East Asia #BEA to receive the 1st ever Grand Award of this category in Hong Kong. Really appreciate the great team effort from their FinTech, Data and Training and Development teams. Congratulations Stephen L. Kenny Au, and Doris Tong. My OpenCertHub teammates are so fortune to collaborate with the BEA team to empower their colleagues at all levels of the bank to speak the language of data.

Also happy for many HR leaders in town like Fanny Chan from China Everbright Bank Hong Kong #CEBHKEliza Ng #HKPCEdmund Lam #FubonBankDerek Wu #LKK, and many others for their amazing achievement. Also good to see young leaders like CY Chan #ECHealthCareBobo WongMichelle Chan #MicrosoftMingo Tsang #Bowtie and more. They are with bright minds and our future as well.

As I mentioned in my talk on “Data Literacy – Build Future-proof Workforce with Second Business Language”, Digital Transformation not only needs digital experts but also HR experts as change management and culture play a pivot role in its success. Teamwork between digital teammates and HR teammates are super important. Had a very good chat with Kandy Lui #iHRM and learnt a lot from her on the HR profession and it’s latest development. Also learnt from José Carlos Bezanilla on how to make Hong Kong a Great Place to Work #GPTW.

Grateful to have Cally Chan from #Microsoft to be my guest for another episode of the RTHK New Management Thinking programme #管理新思維. Appreciate her insightful sharing with us. Thanks to her teammate Bobo Wong for her great effort behind the scene.

We tapped into Cally’s brain on her view on a few interesting hot topics like Women In Tech, Hybrid Working Style, Startups, Digital Transformation, GenZ Talents, Sustainability and ESG, and certainly Cloud and MetaVerse.

We also explored the future of Hong Kong and GBA. Cally is a positive, passionate and visionary leader. She and I believe a healthy and vibrant ecosystem is super important for everyone’s success in Hong Kong. Knowing how to co-create values with the ecosystem will lead us to stay ahead of the curve.

Cally talked about “ABCD..EFGH”. What is it? Stay tuned to RTHK1 this Sunday Aug 21 at 2pm to listen to Cally’s sharing. https://lnkd.in/f-X8RaN

Glad to catch up with Cally Chan GM, #Microsoft Hong Kong, to exchange ideas on the innovation and technology ecosystem and how we can collaborate to co-contribute more to Hong Kong. It was a meaningful discussion. Appreciate that, Cally.

Cally and I have things crossing over each other. Cally is one of our elite #CUHK#EMBA alumni and I am now a professor and associate director of our EMBA programme in CUHK. We are both very passionate in enpowering the #innovation and #technology ecosystem, in particular #startups and #entrepreneurs, in Hong Kong. Will continue to co-creating values for the ecosystem.

Hong Kong Productivity Council held its first “Future of Work & Tech Experience Day” yesterday. Excellent panel discussion on the future of work & talents moderated by Eliza Ng #HKPC. Panelists included Jeff Wong #LinkedInLancy Chui #ManpowerAda Ng #MicrosoftFlorence Chow #HKT and Karen F. HKPC. https://lnkd.in/gN8ntdk

The event also announced the results of “The Future of Work & Skills Survey” jointly conducted by HKPC & #QuokkaHR this year.

One key finding from the report is that the top five digital skills are #BigData#CloudComputing#ArtificialIntelligence#DigitalMarketing & #eCommerce. That is in line with what we have seen in the market.

Marius ChowDAVID Chung Tai-Wai and I were on the other panel to talk about a series of new training programmes to #reskill and #upskill Hong Kong talents on these required future skills in the digital age. These training programs are all supported and subsidized by government funding.

One of the new programmes that I designed together with HKPC is to empower Hong Kong #SMEs & #Startups to seize the emerging opportunities in #ASEAN markets such as #Vietnam#Indonesia#Thailand#Malaysia#Singapore, etc. Stay tuned.

Finspire Hackathon, a fully-online Hackathon, made history for Hong Kong FinTech ecosystem today. It was probably the largest online FinTech hackathon in Hong Kong. “Finspire Hackathon.  We HackForTheFuture”. Hundreds of students and entrepreneurs have actively participated in the Hackathon. Glad to see quite a few CUPP alumni there as well.  3 winners were born today with great FinTech inspirations as what the name of the program is Finspire. Congratulations to the winners and all the participating teams.

This hackathon was held under the cloud of the Coronavirus situation in Hong Kong.  It was encouraging to see that our entrepreneurial spirit did not burn out and continues to shine.  Thank you so much for the organizing team, especially Bobo Wong Tony Chan from Convoy, Harris Chan from Cobo Academy and Thomas Huang from Happyer, for such a great effort and heart to keep our FinTech Ecosystem going.

I am grateful to join Charles Lam, Charleston Sin, Almond Wong, Joseph Chan, Henry Li, Patrick Ho, and Venus Chiu as the judging panel.  Appreciate Convoy Cyberport Microsoft MIT Innovation Node, Happyer, and Cobo Academy for their leadership.
