Proud of My CUHK EMBA Corporate Innovation Class Today

I always found the final class of my CUHK EMBA Corporate Innovation course to be particularly meaningful, as it involved the presentation of the team projects. After attending eight lectures, listening to five guest speakers, analyzing six case studies and participating numerous discussions, this was the moment of truth when my students in four teams showcased their final projects today.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my role in preparing and teaching my students was witnessing how much they learned and were inspired throughout the course. It was gratifying to see them apply their knowledge to real-life scenarios and witness the positive changes they made in their careers and lives. Once again, I was not disappointed.

All four teams invested significant effort in preparing their projects. Two teams chose traditional enterprises as their subjects, while the other two teams focused on emerging startups. We explored how these companies innovated, the challenges they faced, and provided suggestions for improvement. I truly appreciate their dedication in understanding the concepts and practical examples I shared and applying them effectively to their respective cases.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the guest speakers who played a vital role in inspiring my students. Michael Yung from #Google, Viv Chan from #Jebsen, Kenny Cheng from #WeLab, Jens-Peter Brauner, FIET from #Siemens, and Chun Kai Lawrence Chau from #MidLand, shared valuable lessons learned from their experiences in large enterprises and startups.

During the course, I emphasized to my students that their presentations were merely minimum viable products (#MVP). I encouraged them to continue innovating and validating their ideas with customers in order to develop their next MVP. I wish all of you the best as you maintain your enthusiasm for learning and continue your remarkable efforts throughout your EMBA journey and beyond.

Drawing inspiration from my experience in teaching this course, I felt compelled to author a book on Corporate Innovation. My aim is to provide valuable insights not only to my EMBA students but also to business and technology leaders across the globe. Keep an eye out for updates and stay tuned for its release.
