Since our Inauguration Ceremony of the CityUHK DBA Alumni Association on Feb 19 https://lnkd.in/gjRmwyU8, we’ve been on a mission to connect with our fellow alumni associations. Thanks to the wonderful invitation from Jesse Yau, Chairlady of the EMBA Alumni Association as well as Elsa Kwok and Ben Lam, Dr. Gary Cheng and I representing CityUHK DBA Alumni Association, joined an incredible annual dinner. This event marked a fantastic beginning for our DBA and EMBA collaboration, fostering friendship and exploring new opportunities.

One of the evening’s highlights was our keynote speaker, Mr. Sze Wing Ching JP #施永青, Founder and Chairman of the Centaline Group. A visionary and public figure, Mr. Sze shared invaluable insights on innovation. Here are my key takeaways:
1. 𝐏𝐮𝐭 𝐃𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞
As leaders, we must be humble, set aside our ego, and welcome ideas from colleagues. Even if an idea might not work, if it’s reversible and within an affordable loss, let them try it. This approach encourages confident and comfortable innovation among staff.
2. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐮𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 「3-3-3」
Employees should be fairly rewarded for their efforts. To maintain passion and loyalty, a fair incentive scheme is crucial. Allocate 1/3 of revenue to employees, 1/3 to investors and directors, and 1/3 for company operations and development. This ensures hard work and sustainability.
3. 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬
The Centaline Index set a precedent by providing transparency in property prices in Hong Kong. It not only empowers customers to make informed decisions but also prevents unfair practices by unscrupulous agents.

A special thanks to Dr. Bessie Chong , Professor Raymond Wong, and Professor Gang Ho for their unwavering support to both alumni associations. Looking forward to more cross-over events and mutual support with our EMBA Alumni Association!
