62nd Annual Dinner of Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI)

Grateful to have joined the 62nd Annual Dinner of #FHKI last night. Most of the top government officials, including Chief Executive Mr. John Lee and ITIB Secretary Professor Sun Dong, and FHKI leaders, including Chairman Dr. Sunny Chai, and all key Chairpersons in the Innovation and Technology ecosystem, including #ASTRI Sunny Lee, #LSMC Dr. Alan Lam, #Cyberport Simon Chan, #HKSTP Dr. Sunny Chai, #HKPC Sunny Tan, and more were there. Really full of stars🌟🌟 #星光熠熠 there.

Really feel thankful and honour being a ExCo Member and Chief Mentor of the Startup Council of FHKI under the leadership of Jason Chiu together with a team of veterans in the innovation, technology and industry ecosystem. As now we have the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau #ITIB, the Startup Council can and will contribute even more to bridge the #industrialists and tech #startup #entrepreneurs. Hong Kong Digital Asset Society Inauguration Ceremony

Congratulations to the Hong Kong Digital Asset Society #HKDAS Inauguration Ceremony today at Cyberport. It was also a showcase of their hackathon winners. The award winners were so impressive. The youngest awardee was only 14 years old. It was an excellent start to nurture our next generation of digital asset talents for Hong Kong. Appreciate the great effort from the HKDAS’ leaders Fonia Wong 黃仰芳, Alex Au, and their committee members including the well-known artist Hanjin Tan, Celia Lok. Thanks for inviting Edmund Lee, Vincent So and me to be the DAS’s industry advisors. It was our pleasure to join today’s ceremony. As more and more events back to f2f, I am really glad to see friends again. I am very pleased to see Sunny Lee, #ASTRI Chairman, Simon Chan, #Cyberport Chairman, Peter Yan Cyberport CEO, David Chung #ITB, Joseph HL Chan #FSTB, Allen Yeung, Duncan Wong, Kenneth Chau, Priscilla Yeung, Joseph C. As a member of the GS1 HK’s IoT Industry Advisor Council, I am glad to join the 16th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao IoT Technology Application Summit co-organised by GS1 HK today in 3 locations, mainland, Hong Kong and #Macau, simultaneously.

Appreciate the effort from Anna Lin, Corinna Fung, Julian Sin#GS1HK, Kingsley Wong #OGCIO, Ivan Lam#ASTRI, 龍勝當 #澳門電腦學會，and certainly counterparts in Guangdong. Glad to see many industry experts there as well Andrew Ling, wilson chong, Vincent So, Ir Dr Venus Lun, Harman Ng, Kinsen Lee, Bryan Peng(彭文俊)Alex Chung 鍾孝揚 and many others.

Great to see the collaboration across 3 regions on IoT applications on various industries. To make our Greater Bay Area or GBA work, we need smart money flow (FinTech and RegTech), smart logistics flow (AIOT) and certainly smart information flow (AI and Big Data). All these flows have to be protected by CyberSecurity and Blockchain.

Thanks for Anna’s leadership and her GS1HK team effort. Look forward to having more collaboration in these areas and contributing more in this alliance across the #GreaterBayArea#GBA in 2022 and beyond.

Appreciate #HKIB teammates led by Mr. David Kwok, Carrie Leung and Philip Kam for their leadership and professional management of the FinTech Award. The good news for this year is that we are witnessing better and stronger teams year from year. Here are the 3 key highlights.

1. We had record high in terms of number of applications this year.

2. We had richer varieties of #FinTech innovations this year, such as #InsurTech, #RegTech, #Tokenization, #AI on HR in Financial Services.

3. We also appreciated more collaboration of FinTech #startups #entrepreneurs and financial services incumbents #leaders to #cocreate better customer experience, products and services, and innovate new business models. From competition to collaboration.

With this foundation and FinTech ecosystem that we have built for Hong Kong, plus initiatives like HKMA #FinTech2025 and #CDI, #GBA, #ESG, #InsuranceConnect, etc., We are expecting even better innovations coming in the next few years.

Congrats to all of you including myself and be grateful to be a part of the FinTech innovation journey for Hong Kong. Thank you.

(Hong Kong) 2021 Hong Kong ICT Expo

How do you like my “Digital Look”? Stay young and stay innovative. We should not call “IT Look” anymore as it not cool or chill enough. It should call “Digital Look” or “D-Look” these days.

Since I have seriously been engaging with the innovation and technology ecosystem worldwide 7 to 8 years ago, I feel younger and more passionate than my last 25 years in the traditional IT industry. If you would like to be younger or look-n-feel at least, stick around the innovation and tech ecosystem.

Feel really grateful and happy to be back to large-scale physical innovation and technology conferences and exhibitions in the 2021 Hong Kong ICT Expo this week and the 2021 Hong Kong FinTech Week next week. Congrats to Hong Kong Startups Ecosystem. 3 flagship events are all in this week. InvestHK HKFinTechWeek, Cyberport Venture Caplital Forum (CVCF) and HKSTP ElevatorPitch (EPiC). We altogether organized a super successful startups week in Hong Kong and for HongKong even under the recent situation in Hong Kong. Thank you.

What we can do these days is not to give up or stop our innovation and technology aspirations. Rather we need to work together even harder and contribute even more to continue building on what we have established in the past few years and keep cultivating our startups. That is the way we can help HK in this stage and sustain our strength. Let’s keep on our momentum.
