Grateful to organize and moderate inspiring discussion sessions with AXA, Tencent and Forms in Shenzhen!

Recently, I had the privilege of introducing the Tencent FinTech and InsurTech management team led by Jackie Yang, Xiaokai (Victor) Shi and Summer Yulin Tu to AXA’s senior leadership, led by Sally YW Wan and David Ng, at Tencent’s amazing headquarters in Shenzhen. It is a part of AXA Executive Series on the GBA for their leadership team. Our discussions centered around insurance and technology development in the Greater Bay Area, and it was truly enlightening. AXA’s team led by Angela Wong and Virginia Lui was very engaging with our discussion with Tencent and we all learned a lot from the sessions.

During our visit to Tencent, we explored their impressive strategies and cutting-edge innovations in Cloud computing, Cybersecurity, AI, GenAI and LLM, DataCenter, NewEnergy, and IoT. What stood out to me was their inclusive approach, leveraging technology to uplift underprivileged communities in areas like finance (banking, insurance, investment), education, and food. Impressive, indeed!

My colleagues from CUHK, Patrick S Lee and AXA’s David Ng, Isabel Lam, and Gary H. also led a team from AXA to visit FORMS HK‘s HQs in Shenzhen. There, we learned firsthand from ALEX Chan, Barry Chan, Anthony Tsang and their key team members about how Forms empowers and supports financial services companies in the GBA as well as ASEAN. It was eye-opening to witness their impact on innovation and operational excellence.

Heartfelt thanks to both Tencent and Forms for generously sharing their valuable experience and wisdom with us. Appreciate AXA management team for their trust on my team and proactive participation to our study trip. Also thank to my CUHK teammates for their effort behind the scene.

This collaborative spirit is essential for fostering opportunities and accelerating progress in the Greater Bay Area. I eagerly anticipate and will bring in more value co-creation initiatives among organizations in this dynamic region to support the growth of the digital economy in the GBA.
