I was incredibly grateful to share my latest thoughts on how SMEs can harness the power of AI and data to seize new business opportunities and operate smarter. It was a forum organized by the BNI Empire.
While some see AI as a threat to SME survival, I view it as an incredible opportunity. Just like eCommerce allowed SMEs to expand their reach globally with lower costs, AI empowers them to compete with industry giants. AI, GenAI, and data enable SMEs to do more with less, enhancing productivity and providing access to previously inaccessible expertise. With tools like DeepSeek, these technologies are now more accessible and affordable for SMEs.
No matter what AI can do, data remains king. SMEs must capture and digitize their data as critical steps for making smart daily decisions and preparing data assets that AI can leverage to create value.

Timas is one of the BNI leaders. He was also one of my elite CUHK EMBA students. Timas is a successful business leader, and very humble and willing to learn.
