I’m truly grateful to have completed the first-ever PMI #CPMAI AI Governance & Standards cohort in Hong Kong, guided by two outstanding master trainers β€” Dr. Kelvin Wan, PMP & Alfons Futterer. Our cohort brought together AI leaders from top enterprises across the city, creating a powerful and inspiring learning environment. We are going to be the first group in Hong Kong to be certified for the global qualification PMI CPMAI and will take up the mission to train up more.

As someone passionate about AI and data literacy, this program strengthened my ability to translate technical AI governance concepts into the language that boards and senior executives care about. Through the CPMAI framework, we learned how to articulate AI governance in ways that resonate at the top level:
– Strategic advantage
– Risk exposure
– Financial impact

These are the conversations every leadership team must have as AI becomes core to business strategy.

We gained hands-on understanding of global standards such as ISO 42001 and the NIST AI RMF. These frameworks provide the policies, structures, and guidelines enterprises need to:
– Build AI governance systems
– Establish controls and monitoring
– Ensure AI systems are reliable, auditable, and aligned with business goals
– Future‑proof the organization for upcoming regulations

The blend of strategic clarity and practical depth made the five weekends incredibly worthwhile.

AI Governance is not a β€œnice to have.” It is a must β€” a core part of AI investment and a responsibility to protect our companies, customers, and society.

My sincere thanks to:
– Our master trainers, for their expertise and dedication
– Dave Chen and the Hong Kong Computer Society #HKCS team, and Dr. Kelvin Wan and the Project Management Institute #PMI team, for making this program possible
– Brian Sun from HKSAR #DPO, for his support and for presenting our certificates in person
– Sandy Zhu from #GienTech and Sally Lau from #APJ, for hosting us with venue & refreshments throughout the course.

Looking ahead, I believe more leaders will soon recognize the urgency of AI Governance. Every company should consider the PMI CPMAI certification to prepare for the challenges β€” and responsibilities β€” of the AI era. DALA – Data & AI Literacy Association #DALA will join hands with PMI and HKCS to strengthen the AI governance in Hong Kong and beyond.
